| Balaton
is the biggest lake in Europe, witch is suitable for bathing.
Its shallow water's temperature rises to 28-29 degrees in
the summer. It is not just a paradise for swimmers, sailers
and surfers, but for anglers too. At the southern part of
the 77 kilometre-long lake are the gentle hills of Somogy,
and at the northern part, which is called Balaton Highlands,
stretching to the Bakony mountains, can be found ancient volcanic
hills, which are famous for tasteful grapes and wine. Numerous
beauties also can be found here: castles, border fortresses,
churches, monastery ruins, country-houses, wine-cellars, ancient
bridges and old water-mills. |
